After more than 25 years of watching records pass over their counter, our friends at Strictly Discs (1900 Monroe St.) started to wonder just where they’re all going. To what meticulous archive, to what groaning shelves, to what roughly twin-bed-sized pile are these things headed?
In honor of Record Store Day — Saturday, April 20 — Strictly Discs has started to compile photos of the collections of their staff, customers, and friends to share with the world in celebration of the many varieties of record collecting (CDs & LPs).
They invite you to join in by submitting your own photos and stories: You, in front of some representation of your collection (interpret this how you may) and 250 characters or less describing it.
As an example, see below the entry from Whitney Mann, local singer-songwriter extraordinaire. We’ll have more info in the coming days about what fun activities are in store (get it?) for Record Store Day at Strictly Discs next Saturday.
