DON’T PRESS PLAY YET. Follow my directions: Lay down. Close your eyes. Smile. Now press play.

Clearly you’ve lost your patience for keeping your eyes closed by now so I’ll go ahead and illustrate your imagination. You see nonsensical splatter painting onto slippery surfaces, an unruly mess. Neon colors are bouncing left, right, up, down, diagonally, inwards and outwards. The chaos settles. Bouncing becomes swaying, neon squiggles transform into bronze strings, and the first strum tosses your head to the left. The second strum tosses your head to the right. Now you’re tossing around like an insomniac on speed! You did it!

“Default” is anything but default. It’s off Django Django’s self-titled debut album, which has already heard widespread acclaim in its young life. Check out the artistic music video to the song, as it will add an artistic dimension to the track.

To put things simply, Django Django’s music is like the bubonic plague. Not a soul was expecting it to happen, but it ended up being the most contagious epidemic ever. With the music, however, the infection took fire in Edinburgh, Scotland. The virus can be blamed on four main sources: David Maclean (drummer/producer), Vincent Neff (vocals/guitar), Jimmy Dixon (bass), and Tommy Grace (synth operator). This unique outbreak of psychedelic rock is inescapable and will inevitably infect us all.
