Kelly Pratt may not be a name that you know off the top of your head, but if you are familiar with bands such as Beirut, Arcade Fire, and LCD Soundsystem, then you are aware of his work.
His previous band, Team B, released an album in 2008, but Natives will be his first under the name Bright Moments.
“Travelers” is a joyful track that implores you to come along on a superb journey. His use of horns, percussion, and compelling lyrics sets the tone throughout the track. Pratt’s ability to mesh imaginative lyrics with poignant backing music is something to behold. This may be Bright Moments’ debut album, but it clear that he has been here before. One can only hope that the remainder of the album is as promising as this track.
