“If You Don’t Get What You Want”
from the album Pocket Revolution

2005
iTunes

Occasionally an album slips through the ‘net. Even being a fan of dEUS for some time, this new album was released with next to no noise at all — which is a mistake, because the album itself makes a pretty glorious noise. The Belgian band have lived on the other side of mainstream in their two earlier releases, the last of which was in 1999 (so you can understand why a new album should be worth a mention). Although their earlier albums contained some rather remarkable, intelligent rock, they also crammed in more than a little weirdness. Looking at the fan reviews for this album, they’re a little disappointed that Pocket Revolution is a more straightforward affair, but, for the rest of us, this is a significant plus. If you like your rock with a deliciously dark side, addictively compulsive rhythm, and the most driving melodies imaginable, then this is for you.
