Metric are a Canadian indie rock band, originally from Toronto but currently based in Los Angeles. The band consists of vocalist and keyboardist Emily Haines, guitarist James Shaw, bassist Joshua Winstead and drummer Joules Scott-Key. Haines and Shaw have also performed with Broken Social Scene.
The album isn’t very innovative sonically, but it does have a lot going for it — it’s bright yet contemplative, crisply produced, and extremely catchy.
